Foundations of personal and family wellness:
Ancient foods for modern times

Venue: Charlottesville, VA, Location TBD
Format: In person
Time: 9am - 2pm for both days
Cost $185

A resurgence of traditional foods in the mainstream indicates many want to reclaim ways of nourishing ourselves, especially amidst poor quality food supply, rising food prices, and the incessant increase of stress on our bodies and minds.

Recurrent seasonal sickness, fatigue, and poor digestion and elimination can point to needing more deep nourishment and stronger immunity. The busyness of life, both the good parts and the unwanted parts, keep many from having the time to devote to the experimentation and discovery of wise ways in the kitchen. Yet our lagging health also costs us in time, money and reduced vibrancy. This workshop is an opportunity to develop familiarity and comfort with smart foods that you’ll lean on for sustaining health that won’t cost too much and are readily available, and easy to make once you learn.

Description:

Learn the art and science of three key recipes for wellness that nurture and maintain wellness, especially during winter months.

Spend two immersive days cultivating your own wise-food ways in a small group setting and forever keep the recipes, the process, and the health you gain.

Get hands-on learning and demystify what your ancestors knew about nourishment. Spend 5 hours each day in a small group (limit 6) learning and participating in creating:

  • Sauerkraut to equip your gut to fight off colds and flu, assist vitamin and mineral uptake, and support heart and mental health too.

  • Elderberry tonic to stimulate your immune system to lessen viral load.

  • Bone broth to deeply nourish your body’s reservoirs and deliver sensory satisfaction at the table.

Who is this for?

  • Anyone who wants to build a the skills and knowledge of time tested slow-food recipes.

  • Anyone who wants to create healthier food options for deep nourishment.

  • Anyone who likes to spend time in the kitchen.

  • Anyone who believes health is one of their greatest assets.

Recovering Myself Through My Ancestors:
Writing a new narrative with Christine Brodmerkel

I embarked on a thrilling journey to learn how to bring healing to my family and address the transmission of distortions and traumas that were present in our larger family dynamic.  I discovered unexpected and new resources that have strengthened me and brought about a sense of belonging that I never had before. I have begun to write a new narrative about my own family and step further into healing myself and future generations by the deep personal work that has been fostered by engaging in Ancestral Lineage Healing.

In this talk, I’ll share about my own journey, the four basic beliefs that underlie this framework I use, and the 5 steps involved in the lineage repair work.
